you might want to look into getting clips/straps, for stopping/not getting killed by your pedals reasons

or at least put some brakes on it since you're trusting your life to f-ing locktite. or just drink a lot of grape flavored mad dog 20/20 out of a paper bag after a under-bridge nap.

It's "rustique"...very nice for a $25 job. I like the miss-matched reflectors on the wheels! :D

clips and straps are just scary, i ride clipless on my other bike, clip less wont fit on those one piece cranks. so do i spend the cash and upgrade the cranks and bb that will cost me more than the bike is worth.

brakes are your friends.
seriously, i know that some folks ride brakeless with platform pedals, but that's either nuts, incredibly core, or both, depending on your outlook.

did you cut off the kickstand housing, or the kickstand itself, leaving the mechanical assembly?
if you did the latter, maybe I'll divulge my secrets of removing the entire assembly from the housing.

Would that be the C-clamp secret, Ryan? :)
Cabana, that was an expensive tube. I've had a few of these-so you got the weight down to about 35?

ya seven bucks i was at this 24 store and it was like 1:30 am i wanted it right then f the lbs
Haha, if anyone else would know it would be you, SBL!
Well, the way I did it was this: I found a washer that could slip over the kickstand but was smaller than the housing, so it rested against that circular plate. Then either use a big c-clamp or channel locks to press that circular plate down into the assembly and while its pressed in, pull the pin on the bottom of the housing out with a pair of needlenose pliers. If you don't have a washer as such, you can use a small nut or something against it.
After the pin is out, everything should slide out.
Good luck.

just look around their a dime a dozen i saw powder blue one in this guys yard the other day,man this old guy has like 300 old bikes in his yard he even had old folding schwinn.
i got one complete, geared w/ wheels for $20. In retrospect it may have only been worth $15 though...
Although that was a Schwinn Continental, they are almost the same bike.

This may be a dumb question or not, did this bike have chainrings that were riveted together? If so, how did you remove one of them? Looks like you are now down to one, I'd like to do that same thing. Nice bike.

no rivets just 5 screws ,the big ring screwed to small one so i took a grinder to the small ring cut all it apart except for the spots were it srewed onto the big one. now that ive rode i wish i would have used the small one i have a diff set of one piece cranks that have just chain ring on it im going to see if that fits this weekend. let me know if u want picks of this ugly mess
It should fit, they are universal.
