theres isn't much on when I get home (past midnight)

sometimes I like those "dateline" or "courtTV" mystery type detective shows

reruns of law and order are my favorite

iron chef roXors

documentary-edu channels are good (although I think the History Channel should change their name to "The Civil War Channel" --enough!!)

oln sometimes has cycling coverage, or outdoors-type stuff (climbing, those parachute things, camping, etc)

mtv seems like something I should hate, but sometimes programs like wild boys or punked are good, I really like boiling points

strangers with candy is great, haven't seen it for awhile though, need to get the dvds

any sketch comedy (aside from madTV) is good, even SNL is okay

-Arrested Development
-Scrubs
-The Office has been panned, but I didn't see the orig, made me laugh, so I'm watching it.
-And I watched Curb Your Enthusiasm when I visited my brother last week, almost made me wish I had HBO.
-Can't stand the corporate news channels, I watch Jim Lehrer's news hour and BBC news on PBS.

Deadwood is great, but you either love it or hate.

I also like Seinfeld (I can catch it six times a day if I so choose). The wife is a survivor addict.

I love Coupling. I think I'm going to get the DVD set. You mean the original BBC series, right? Because NBC fubar'd the USA version. In fact it made me really wary of the American The Office. But so far so good.

My list:

The Daily Show
Jeopardy
Scrubs
Arrested Development
The Simpsons

Yeah, I mean the American version of Coupling. I just can't stand the American versions of British shows. I always say the British have some really dry humor, but when they are funny, they are hilarious! It just doesn't translate as well to American tv.

I also find Scrubs slightly funny, and I like the Simpsons, but I prefer the earlier episodes of the Simpsons.

Pretty much only Battlestar Galactica and Stargate: Atlantis.

I'll occasionally watch Law and Order and Everybody Loves Raymond. I don't go out of my way to catch them, but my wife likes them and I'll watch 'em with her.

Other shows I like, but can never seem to catch are Scrubs, Mythbusters and Pizza. I caught an episode of Ed on late last night and laughed my arse off (it was one where he was lucid dreaming - hilarious)

I like The West Wing but I'm just not that into it. I like Law and Order and the various spinoffs but I get burnt out on them... especially when my wife insists on tuning into the reruns on TNT and then it's like 6 hours straight of Law and Order. Oh well, at least it keeps me from watching too much TV. My favourite NBC show is Scrubs. I think sometimes it makes for a better er than er. And I really like John McGinley and his character, Dr. Cox. Such an appropo character name too. ;)

Other than the news and various shows on The History Channel and The Military Channel (formerly Discovery Wings), my only really watched shows are The Simpsons and Battlestar Galactica. I have been known to skip The Simpsons from from time to time though and just catch it on reruns. Truth be told, I actually liked Futurama more than The Simpsons... too bad the politics at Fox caused it to get cancelled. I still watch it on the Cartoon Network and I have several episodes on DVD. I thought of it as "The thinking-man's Simpsons". It was intelligent and at the same time more crass. I used to be into 24 for the first season and most of the second but then it just got trite and turned into a parody of itself.

The bright spot as far as new shows in my eyes is Battlestar Galactica. It's gritty and doesn't pull punches. The writing is excellent and the acting is pretty good for its first season. The drama and tension in the story really keeps the suspense level high. The presentation really conveys the atmosphere of an ongoing crisis and the exploration into how it effects a wide range of people is well done. The special effects and action are also well placed and flows good with the story arc. I'm glad they got picked up for a second season.

Not much..HBO movies. "Link TV"..Have not the foggiest of what is on Commercial tv...Do like Bill Maher. Get our news from The Daily show. you can read more between the lines than from network news.
do feel cheated, do not get OLN...Will not buy an extra 50 channels and not one other than OLN is on my want list.
Court TV II..I think..Don't watch court TV I.

Extreme Home Makeover: How'd They Do That (Geek factor)
South Park (duh)
Adult Swim (Saturday's and Sunday's particularly Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex)
Beyond that if I'm watching TV it's either on Discovery, History, The Learning Channel or A&E

My wife and I were huge West Wing fans when it started. We're both kind of wonky and it was really well-written and acted. The quality really dropped off 2 seasons ago, but it seems to be making a comeback with the Jimmy Smits v. Alan Alda storyline.

Wasn't there a video game back in the 80's called Battlestar Galatica?

I laugh at Dave Chapelle Show

I still seek out re-runs of Barney Miller and Night Court, they found and used the craziest character actors in the biz.

I almost forgot about Night Court. It was one of the funniest shows on at the time. That lawyer that was really smarmy and sex addicted was the funniest part of that show.

They don't do any syndication for Night Court?

There probably was... just as there was a boardgame, a line of toys and lunch boxes. The current Battlestar Galactica is a re-imagining of the original concept for a show from the late 1970s about a group of people running away from the annihilation of their 12 planets and heading for the lost colony of Earth. It starred Lorne Greene, Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict amongst others. The real star of the show however was the Galactica, a giant space battleship/carrier hybrid that was humanity's only method of defense against the robotic Cylon Warriors.

Fleeing from the Cylon tyranny, the last battlestar, Galactica, leads a rag-tag,
fugitive fleet on a lonely quest – a shining planet known as Earth.

http://www.richardhatch.com/images/photos/rhcom_pic13.jpghttp://www.soundtrackcollector.com/images/movie/large/Battlestar_Galactica.jpg

Battlestar Galactica was one of the very first sci-fi series to offer a real story-arc. Unfortunately, the writing and acting could sometimes also be very very cheesy owing to the fact that it was billed as a "family show". Worse was that it was incredibly expensive to produce. It only lasted a season or so. There was an attempted spin-off that every fan wants to forget. It was targetted towards younger audience and billed as a children's show.

The new Battlestar Galactica takes the original concept and changes a bunch of things around but the premise is still pretty much the same. The new shoe is clearly aimed at adults with a much more gritty and sophisticated theme. It also tries to deal with humanity on the brink of destruction and fleeing for their survival.
