how does one remove a headset race from a fork? I bought a new colnago flash fork and there is a race pressed on, however, not a king race. I need to get it off but don't know how. If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks.

Have LBS do it.

It is a modest press fit onto a 3-4mm high seat. A brass rod and a hammer used
gently, tapping around the edges is all it takes. Piece of hardwood would work
also. In extremis a steel punch will work. Takes about 20 seconds. Putting the
new race on: use a PVC pipe with the ID of the pipe same as the OD of the
fork tubing. A length of 3/8" all thread as a compressor will snug it down nicely.
Needless to say the PVC should have a square end. Use a carpenters square to
verify this. If you are using Chris King for the new headset, by all means
use the LBS. You won't notice the extra cost. Steve
