That's great. And, in a couple years, you "donate" it back to Goodwill...then another little girl gets a nice bike...most Trek kid's bikes are built to last, so this one could make a bunch of kids happy.

Give it back.I can't,I have a son that is comming along, and at 2 he aready loves going on bike rides.maybe in about 8 years.
sad the kids have better bikes than I ever did.although the little 10 speed that I bought from sears was a really good little bike.fast too.was clocked once at 45 but that is anouther story.
She is just in love.I think tommorrow I will take it to the LBS to get it tuned up and road ready.then maybe this weekend we can go for a ride.

Well yeasterday I gave my daughter her new bike.I had taken it to the LBS to get a tune up and have the tires fixed.now mind you my daughter is 8.well she just loves it.fights shifting a little but she is learning.she rode for about an hour and a half last night.it is goin to be a great little bike for her.evern the wife was riding her own bike.it was a great evening.
while we were riding I found a schwinn mt bike.did not get a great look at it but it looks almost complete.older bike.might see about it and give it to a old friend of mine to get him started.he is interested in riding but just can't afford a great bike.this might be a way to go.
My little girl just wants to ride now but the weather is just to lousy right now.but she is excited about it.
I did good this time.

Congratulations on a wonderful find. Good job Dad!

May you and your daughter enjoy many rides together and may she look back on those times when she's in her 20-30's and remember it with fondness.

Great deals are out there. The best deal is knowing you made your kid happy and didn't spend alot to do it. Teach her how to take care of it and when she's ready for the next one she'll find the great deal her self.

My littlest one out grew her's and took over her older sisters. The older sister and I found one at a garage sale for $5.00. A little neglected, but in about 20 minutes WE had it working great. Took their two first bikes, complete with the training wheels, to Goodwill on Saturday. We all took time to clean them up and they will make great first bikes for a couple of young ones. Just passin' on the passion.
