Just following protocol...
I am a former mountain bike racer, who after 8-9 years off, just completed my first MS150 Houston to Austin ride with 13,000 of my closest friends. With limited training, in two days covered 185 miles in 9 hours on my Bridgeston RB-1. I'm stoked. Riding is great therapy.
I discovered the site because I'm trying to figure out what what kind of value my 2 vintage bikes are worth: 1992 Bridgestone RB-1 and 1985 Specialized Stumpjumper Sport. Its time for new bikes!

Welcome to the forum and welcome back into cycling. But, how could you think of getting rid of one of those "classics?" Wouldn't that be like sacrificing your first born? There's a vintage road ride around here and you would fit right in with the RB-1. I also have a vintage Stumpjumper that keeps my MB-2 company.

1st borns become mature, sophisticated and technologically advanced. My bikes are living in the mid eighties and early nineties. On the other hand I was looking at the fine workmanship of the lugged RB-1 frame....hm.....

Yes, there is nothing like a lugged frame. Maybe that's why even my newest Lemond carbon/steel frame is lugged.
