Well wouldn't you know, just as I start back into riding faster this year and getting into my rides, I go and do a stupid thing...

At my father in-laws I was stepping off of his porch and there was a hole with a drainage ditch that was hidden by grass so you couldn't see it, my left foot went on to the side of the hole and my foot/ankle formed a nice LOUD L shape, loud cracking/snapping sounds ensued and I was restrained enoughed to not yell out loud, but down I went and two days later the out side of my ankle is sticking out farther than my other one. I think it is just sprained, badly sprained, as I can walk on it without too much problem but I'm not sure if I should subject it to riding too soon?

It plainly sucks as I just put on a Vetta computer and logged in a little over 30 miles...

Any one with an experience something similar?

Gary, I'm no expert but that sure sounds like more than
a sprain to me. I'd be gettin my butt to the doctor to get
it checked out.

You have many small bones in the foot which operate independently of one another. It's possible to break one and still be able to move and walk albeit painfully. Also, you've got a joint there which may have been damaged. Damaged joints need attention.

I KNEW Albeit was a word. I was going to use it in a post today!

Oh, hey, man, about your ankle, yea. Break down and see a professional man. It sucks to get hurt, but it happens all the time. This time it was your turn I guess.

Hope that turns out ok.

I'm always turning an ankle. Heck, I'll just be walking along and bam! Usually I can catch myself and not hurt it too badly, but seems like I'm usually limping around. I've got weak ankles due to severe sprains when I was younger, go get it checked out or you could suffer a similar fate! I hate to see that happen!
