I will give 5 dollars for anyone that can find me a detailed pdf diagram of how to take apart one of those bloody shifters. I tried to take on apart once and failed miserably, I will never do it again. I jsut want to see what kind of voodoo wizardry goes into those things.http://www.bikeforums.net/

Pay the man. Will ya? :)

Actuallly, they are not that complicated. The deraileur cable is "reeled" in like a fishing rod when you operate the shifter. It's kind of interesting, because Shimano also makes fishing rods and reels. They just brought the technology into bicycling.

No wonder people spend so much time carping about Ultegra.
