From downtown, or the mission, whatever. That's the ride I need to go on today. Anyone have route suggestions? Want to join in? Leaving something like 11am-noon.

We need bikequest.com (mapquest for cycling).

dude, that ride totally sucks. I did it dunk last sunday and there's one incline after you pass cesar chavez. then some more depending how far out you're going and on the way back there's this HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE one (that's if you're taking mission all the way, which is what did) that you never even really remembered climbing or coming down from on your way there. it is big, and very long. tell me how it goes...

Guerrero/San Jose is now striped with bike lanes.
Take Valencia to Army, then cut over to Guerrero/San Jose to avoid
the hill on Mission St.

k, I'm game. Is mission the best way? Is there anyplace to go out there. I have to bring some shirts out to someone who lives out there.

oops, everyone posting at same time, thanks for the route tips.

is that an insult? what is the purpose anyhow? I don't see a need for one, but there's got to be one, or many. I dunno.

I've got pipe insulation on my top tube to protect it from all the *ssholes who don't give a sh*t on the train. Gotten more than a few scratches on the green bike from those f*ckers...

If I had a good bike, not that mine sucks all that bad, but, that's a good reason.

My ride got pushed back to 2pm ish, so if anyone wants in. I'll be up for a few beers after of course, or during, before, you get the point.

going to see motorhome tonight at benders bar for free, 19th & south van ness, bands start @ 9:30. shameless plug for a friends band. it's free.

don't you ever be talking about my bike and pads in the same sentence again!

hahaha just kidding. although they definitely perform some function (ala Judah's post), i guess i find them sort of goofy looking.

would love to go for a ride, but stuck at work.

also, i was thinking we should set up some sort of orange sloped top tube khs toverlap support group?

Assuming PC, take a screen shot of it by hitting the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard which will copy an image of your screen contents to the clipboard, then open photoshop or anything which can handle images (even word or mspaint if you must) and hit Paste (Ctrl+V). Size/crop/etc, print.

YES!!! How bout a crew, support group sounds like we're challenged, as in ********.

I've been told I'm an idiot for riding this frame as a first fixie. There have been a few times I would agree (falling down at lights in front of waiting cars is kinda lame). We should have jackets w/the aero on it, in orange of course. You want one? I'm going to do black nylon windbreakers, and some tees while I'm at it. I'll keep you posted on the design as it comes about.

Sorry you're at work. It's really really nice out.

you might want to look here for a tool to help you recover a pdf password. http://www.elcomsoft.com/apdfpr.html

of course, you should only use it on a pdf that you own.

it was a nice ride. I'd rather take that long mission hill than san jose, those cars are no joke at 60mph plus, and they were still getting way too close to the bike lane, and there's even a shoulder between. I took mission back and that long hill was a good workout at best (sorry terror/TNCLR, not trying to be an a** here or anything).

What is the hill like - never ridden over that way. Can someone compare it the presidio hill? easier harder, just as steep but shorter?

I just kept pace, it was nothing. I had to stop in traffic at the sceond light, charged on from there. I think you need to look at it another way. Try to accelerate up the hill, not just get up it. You'll be surprised to find that getting up to pace, while a ***** at first, makes the hill easier in the end. Your stride is faster (easier) and you get there faster. Think slayer (or replace wtih something that gets you going, slayer is kinda universal ), kill the hill, murder...

Looks like I'll have to come ride oakland w/you Nyrie, you lead.

I couldn't say, I don't think I've ridden the presidio hill. you mean presidio, the street? between which cross streets? I'll try it and get back to you.

Nah not the street. When coming from chrissey field going up and around the point, pass the bridge towards the cliffs that overlooks baker breach. Its steep, but the ***** is that its long.

If I know the hill you speak of, that one is way worse. this one is an incline, it does go on for 5-7 long blocks, but an incline is an incline.

I rode up the presidio hill w/out clips or clipless, just bmx pedals, that sucked really bad.

hey, what are the hills like in SF compared to Pittsburgh, Pa.. im from pittsburgh and word on the street is pittsburgh is the second hilliest city after SF, but i really cant imagine any place having much more hills than pittsburgh... anyone ever ridden both?
