Chopped, dropped, stretched, lifted, and otherwise cut up and put back together. The art and science of choppers, cruisers, lowriders and the vast world of mutant bicycles.

If you see any current threads that would be better off in this forum. Please let me know via PM.

Enjoy,

Good idea for a separate forum, Joe.

Bikers sure are a distinct cultural group.

Some just say, we're different.

I find many bikers are interested in any cycling persuit.
I like urban, mtn, road.....geez, 2 wheels and i'm interested...well, beyond Trek ..anyway.
I pull ideas from BMX,XC,DH,road...
The Forums are great for a interest in cycling, I've seen lot's more cross posting.
SS and MTB have a cool dialogue.
Bikes=bikes.

Closetbiker..do you post about other aspects of cycling than helmet safety? Not dissn'.
Wondering.

I'll let my nephew know he's part of that club. He's 6, but I'm sure he'll understand. :)

Nope. The OCC Sting Rays are cool. And if you still ride an original Sting Ray, you are cool beyond words.

the OCC stingray was the best selling bike in america last year.

The new stingrays are a lot of cool for not much money.

I don't want one (they don't fit me at all), but I DO want to be able to buy the rims, tires and tubes seperately! I want 4" rear tires!

Cool/kewl --- It's good to see that this forum has actually got the green light. Thanks to EnigManiac for originally suggesting a forum like this.

My nephew is about 2 now, so it looks like I have about 4 years to build him his own little custom/kustom "alt bike". He's going to love it.

Nah, man. You don't need to wait 4 years. Get him on the bike AT 4 years old. So you really only have to wait 2 years! :)

hah --- i'm a bit of a procrastinator and I work a bunch of hours, so I was thinking 4 years would enable a good slackeresque pace for me. Plus, if it's a real sweet ride, it may need to be "test ridden" for quite some time. :)

I saw OCC Schwinn Sting Rays for sale at the grocery store today. (Kroger). That kind of surprised me a bit.

The part I was wondering about is: Who has to put it together? They only had one built for display. The rest were still in their shipping boxes........

Excellent points for the new thread.
Dumb points for those who had to fill it up with poser talk.

Dumb.

That should be a cool thread to read. I've always admired people that have the talent to ride those things! :)

if you ride a bike from k-mart and you are older than 8, you are a poser.
they are called choppers cuz somebody had to chop something, not just pick one up at toys-r-us

I share those thoughts about choppers, if you didnt chop anything, can you call it a chopper? I really want to get my hands on a OCC stingray and chop it to be a normal 20" or something.

I was wondering, this being an alt-bike thread, where are all the pics, advice, building tips, suppilers, etc, etc, etc? I came here hoping to find that type of info. I've always wanted to build something like that, but don't really have any idea whats involved, what I need, what to work with and where to get it, etc. Can anyone help/advise? Nothing could be cooler than a home-made chopper, built by your own hands, as long as it looked cool, not trashy! Please and thanks!!:speedy:

I just thought this would be the place? Surely someone here of all places could help? If not, could someone suggest where I could find out? I just think it would be reall cool to build a bike, especially for my boy, he turns 11 on next thursday!

/me ish ridin' a Chromed out Lowrider with Twisted Bent Forks, 140 spoke 20" rims, Twisted Passenger Pegs, Chrome Skull Valve Covers , Twisted Chrome Steering Wheel, Velour Saddle and even a Chrome rear Bumper.....Wonders what haoppened to the front bumper tho, ah, it was an Ebay Speshul Seen some action but still in decent shape and hell the Rims cost close to what I paid for the whole enchilada :-)

Will try n get a pitcher up on here soon. Tho foresees having to make a matching one once my girls see it so they don't fight over who gonna ride it. Still tinking I may pop a 26" up front just for funz, and the Ape's really ain't high enough hehehehe

Slaps self in head with trout, see the Video I posted in anudder thread ya get a glimpse at the end of the Chrome beastie.
