I'm looking for an energy bar with out any milk products or any High Fructose Corn Syrup.
It something I'd eat in the afternoon prior to a long ride ride home (14 miles).
If you want to avoid these things why not just eat fruit or a peanut butter sandwich?
Energy bars, or other nourishments, are best used during the ride, not before it when the bodies stored energy is highest. Gorp, or trail mix and water sustain me on longer rides.
...But you mentioned on the 14 mile ride home... I assume you are talking about your commute? I would suggest the same thing as above, or maybe raisins, dried apricots or apples and water. You wouldn't need too much food for that distance.

Ever put a sandwich in a camel back? Fruit doesn't hold up well during the morning ride. Peanut butter has a large amount of sodium in it as well... and makes you really thirsty.

I put a sandwich in my pack every day. I have a big pack though. If you want to avoid smashing the sandwich in a smaller camelback, try tupperware. You also cut down on waste by using a re-usable container rather than disposable baggies.
I'm not a big fan of the energy bars. I prefer peanut butter & complex carbos the way nature intended, not ground up I-don't-know-what that tastes like cardboard. Still, sometimes I throw a Clif bar in the camelback if I'm going on a ride (rather than a commute). I think that the Clif Luna bars don't have milk products in them.
Granola or gorp is probably better though.

And suddenly, the lights came on!!
Why didn't I think of that?

You know, I like peanut butter, gorp, trail mix and whatever as much as the next guy, but I just lack the coordination necessary to eat that kind of stuff in a paceline going at 45 km/h. There is a real value in packaged, easily accessible foods like bars and gels on rides like that. I also like Fig Newtons and the pound cake one of my buddies' wives makes. But I also like the convenience of bars.
My faves? I like Balance Bars, but the chocolate ones sometimes get a little gooey in hot weather. I like Luna Bars, but they make you grow breasts. I don't like any of the PowerBar products and I've never had a Gatorade bar that I've liked.
Another thing I do is put watered-down Gatorade in my bottles for long rides. This of it as a glucose drip.

Pardon my lack of knowledge here, but....what is "gorp"?

That would explain a few things..
You know, were that true, I could make a killing selling them.
Of course, I'd probaby get hit for selling them.
"Excuse me ma'am, would you like to increase your breast size?"
"Are my breast small?"
"Well, not exactly ma'am"
"Were you looking at my breast"
"I uh.."
"So you were looking at my breast and think they were small"
"No, now wait"

Good old raisins and peanuts.
Think of it as trail mix on a budget.

I've tried every energy bar under the sun (well... nearly) and have reverted to bananas. They kick butt and always taste good.
Try Clif bars. Taste good and I believe all flavors are vegan.

Personally, I don't like the way Vegans taste... but that's just me.

Yeah, they tend to be a bit chewy off the grill. Better pit roasted with shallots.
