Come one come all. Make plans to join in for the weekday evening speed fest that Magilla is setting up with his riding group sometime in June.

Some Thingamajig riders and yours truly Spuds McDoogle will make the trip to Magillas for this fun summer evening event. The Thingamajig group plans to have a support vehicle that will provide route support exclusively for them. This will help the Thingamajig riders navigate the course since none of them are familiar with Magillas route.

The Thingamajig van support crew will have a camcorder operator recording this hilly chipsealed speed fest between a bunch of old guys with fast bikes.

Time to show how well the Carbon Gelcoat Thingamajigs stack up to a bunch of Magilla fastboys on a difficult course. The video tape of this Thingamajig vs. Magilla & his fastboys event will show the results. Segments of this speed fest will be archived at the WISIL site. Copies of the entire event may also be available for purchase.

Anyone is welcomed to join in. Contact Magilla for details.

Will the sag wagon have PBJs and Diet Coke?

Yes it will. PBJ is the high protein high carb food of elite recumbent racers on my team. PBJ goes down good with a gulp of Diet Coke, Jolt or Mountain Dew.

Hi Spuds,

Lets make some plans and I will give you the corse details.
Bring your NoComs. Some of these DF boy pro's cruse at 28mph plus for about 38 miles. Way to fast for me man! The only WI gig I know of that will not piss and moan about fast bents is the "drop the doc" ride in Dousman WI. Every Sat. 8:00 Am every Saturday morning. Who Knows who will show up. If the trek boy s are there its 30mph and all slow boys are burned off the back....

Magilla,
What happened to the evening training rides up there? The group you ride with in the evenings cruises at 28 mph right?

I made the ride to fast for the fat old guys on there DF bikes.
Now if the Aero is to fast what the hell do ya think the NoCom would do?

MG,
Thats another recumbo tragedy. Fast recumbent and rider banned from the local evening ride. Reminds me of the recent lowracer ban at BAF. Those darn BAF officials and that darn local shop owner. Keeping the fast man down.

Yo Spuds,

The faster thingamajigees weren't banned at BAF. They were banned from the RAF portion of the ride. However, ANY "low fast as you go" thingamajigee could have ridden the course as fast as it could go. Nothing wrong with bragging rights.

Why do you think no fast thingamajigee went and rode? Curisouer here.

As I recall Johnny Schlitter posted on line that he agreed with BAF race directors to ban ALL recumbent designs other than dual 650C wheel recumbents from participating in the race.

There was no point for any recumbent racers other than the ones with Aeros, Volaes or dual 650C T-Bones to travel across country to go to a race that banned a great percentage of recumbent designs from participating. If lowracers were allowed to race at BAF then lowracers would have showed up to RACE.

BAF was an anti lowracer event. On the other hand Speedfest is Morris is a recumbent race that welcomes all recumbent designs. No recumbent design banning in Morris.

Are any of the elite killer bees coming to race in Morris SlowJoe?

Yo Spuds,

Just trying to clarify that there were two events going on: RAF & BAF. One was a race; the other was a ride. No bikes were banned from BAF, so a NoCom or any other kind of bike, trike, unicycle could ride or ride as fast as possible across Florida.

And PBJ, but only if it's made with smooth peanut butter. :D

Cheers

SloJoe,
I thought BAF was Race Accross Florida and that the recreational ride option started later.

Did they have PBJ at the 65 mile rest stop? If not they should have.
