Hello there. I'm new to this site and also to cycling. I have a spankin' new SCOTT SPEEDSTER5. I'm already thinking about putting carbon fiber forks on it. Can anyone tell me what I would benefit besides looking cool? Smoother ride??

Thanks for havin' me. :0)

Some people think carbon forks give a smoother ride. Is it worth the $$$? That's a matter of budget and opinion. One month from now I'll be vacationing in MSP. Hopefully there'll still be some spring coolness left by then.

I'm sure it will still be cool enough for you here. The highs are only in the 50's now.

Those are my kind of high temperatures. :D Loved the variety of seasons when I lived up there. I'm hoping for some good thunderstorms while I visit, too - the kind of towering green monster thunderstorms you only get on the Plains. Good stuff.
