So many thinkgs I like about this build. Just noticed how well you lined up the front rear "racks". Looks like a lightning bolt running through it.
AlmostTrick, Negative trail does take some time to get used to. But I've built so many bikes like this that it feels natural to me......Not for the faint of heart!

Two more: Wonderful Roadmaster!
The way the rear of the frame wraps around the fender, attached to a single bar says Harris/Snyder to me although I'm certain that frame goes around to several makes and models.
Perfect works just as well although I don't think my shoulders would like apehangers a lot.
You've defined Rat nicely, mississippimud!

Great bikes guys! The blue bike by Mississippimud is a set up that I've considered building too, a cruiser frame with flat bars and a fast look.
KOTA, it's cool to see that you're a member here too. I'm an RR member too, but I posted much.
Here's what I built for build off #6 at Rat Rod forums. This bike was Western Flyer 10 speed with drop bars. Now it has sweet fat tires!

After having so much fun with my first custom bike build on Rat Rod Bikes (http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=43662 )
I have been inspired to do a custom build with a 86 Dahon Classic
You can follow it here.
http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic...=432141#p432141
Another RRBer is making a sand bike out of the 20x4 rear ends of OCC StingRays. I plan on trying the same thing but marrying it to a Dahon Classic.
It is just an idea so far, but it should be fun. Well first I have to give complete credit to yoothgeye and his over the top sand bike SAND ROVER (http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=41955&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a )
I never would have thought of this on my own. I didn't want to continue bogarting his thread with stories about my hunt for a Stingray, so here is my thread.
About the time that I saw yooth's rolling frame, I saw a Sun Snyder, and then an OCC Stingray showed up on CL. I had to jump. I think yooth is dead on whith his scale and execution using a smaller frame with these fat twentys. With a bigger frame the wheels wouldn't look as big and thuggish.
I guess I can't really call this a build yet, because all I have is some of the parts and an idea. But maybe if I post my idea to RRBers it will force me to follow through and not have to walk the shameful halls of unfinished bikes.
As a reference and with major reverence, let me show an early photo of yooth's Sand Rover.
http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac348/kingfish254/Dune%20Thuggy/SandRover.jpg
Pretty awesome build isn't it???
I don't plan to do a total theft of Sand Rover. I decided it would be cool to tie it in to another bike style that I enjoy and that is folding bikes.
Here is the 86 Dahon Classic that I am thinking of using. I know that there will be a few engineering challenges to this, but what the hell. It's a start.
http://i914.photobucket.com/albums/ac348/kingfish254/Dahon%2086%20Classic/IMG_6379.jpg
Also here is the OCC StingRay I started with. Cool story with this purchase, that I will post later.

Here is a bad virtual mockup of what I hope to accomplish by marrying a Dahon Classic with two Stingray Chopper rear ends.

I initially posted it in the Touring section, because that's what I built it for, but I think this is where it really belongs.
It went from an Xtracycle to a suspension xtracycle to a chopper and finally to this. Naked and muscle motorbikes were the big inspiration as far as looks and position on the bike goes, but it's larger than just about any naked bike and due to the cushy 8" front and back suspension it feels more like a cruiser with a more aggressive riding position. It's truly a joy to ride.

I found out you can put 16 inch motorcycle tires on the OCC 20x4 rims. I stopped off at the Harley dealer and picked up some free used ones. Here they are.
The jump from the OCC to the HD is is just as much a jump in scale as it was to jump from the Dahon 16 to the OCC. There is 16" of clearance from the ground to the bottom of the frame. The center of the crank will be 20" off the ground. I am going to have to add a penny farthing foot peg just to get up on this beast! :P Good thing that it folds up for easy carrying!! 8)

Out of storage for the HPVFest with an added breakdown joints that I started a few days before. It has inner sleeves welded to the back half that insert to the front half like a trombone. After that I just add the bolts. Stores in the back of the car in a stack. It's easy to do and a great addition to a long DIY recumbent.
