Full wrap glasses with big lenses are best. Carry some eye drops in a jersey pocket.
Check out REI. I bought a pair of Coyote wraparound sunglasses for about $60 (good price for polarized glasses which do wonders for cutting down the glare). Just try not to sit on them. Take VPio's suggestion and bring along the eye drops!

I just got Zeal Optics Winks. They wrap around and I've had no problems with dry contacts. Even in the car with the windows down I feel no air around my eyes.
The winks are made for small to medium faces but I'm sure they have other models that will do the job. Some come with interchangeable lenses.
I paid extra to get a rose polarized lense. It works great in most light conditions. No more worrying about changing lenses for changeable skies.
I have a couple of pair of Smith sliders but they didn't fit me well so I had everything in my eyes when I wore them.
