Introductions - Hello All...from the Garden State

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Glad to have found a new place to chat about cycling. I've been road cycling somewhat seriously since Spring of '01. The 6 years prior to that were mostly off-road antics in the hills of Central Alabama. I've since learned a heck of alot about cycling/bikes/fitness from a number of cycling forums. I'm hoping to fit in 2-3 triathlons a year in addition to the end-of-summer centuries.
I'm currently 8 1/2 months pregnant so I haven't been doing any serious riding for quite a few months. Several days a week I do get out on the "maternity" bike (aka mtb) with 4 year old daughter in tow on the trail-a-bike. I'm hoping this will throw me into labor any day now (how cool would that be?).
Enough about me...I need to go read some ride reports. Gotta live vicariously these days.

Welcome to the Forums SpinChick!
I live in Ohio, but was born in New Jersey, and was bit by the bicycle bug back in 1989, but have recently begun to get serious about it again.
I have gleened much knowlegde from the forums - but nothing beats hands on. I hope the birth goes well for you, and that you are able to get on the bike soon thereafter - that is if you're able to see through the sleep-deprived haze you'll be living in.....
Anyway, welcome again!

Well, howdy! Another refugee from that Other Place, eh? Great to see you here -- I think you'll like it.
Good luck with SpinKid II!

Hey, thanks for the welcome, both of you.
Hi Rich - I did notice a few posters who looked familiar. Did you make it to the First Union race last weekend? I missed it but was able to see the Trenton leg a few days prior.
A warm welcome!! Spinchick. from a biker on the other side of the pond (England)
Wishing you well for the forthcoming birth of your baby and take great care if as you suggest, you are still able to ride out being 8 1/2 months on .
A new life is a precious thing!!!!

Hi, Robin,
Race day was kind of a bummer. I usually schedule myself to work that day, so I can ride in and then ride around the Parkway during the race. I work right on Logan Circle, which is one end of the course. And of course race day is guaranteed by God Hisownself to be the best weather of the year, so I always look forward to it.
But the Monday before the race I got right-hooked and ended up with some cracked and bruised ribs, so I was off the bike (still am, but I may try it later this week).
I still had to work on race day, so it was quite distressing to actually drive (ick) into town and cross the course wearing street clothes. I felt like an outsider or something. But I did see a good bit of the race.
I'm no racer, but I swear next year I'm going to get up early and ride the course before the event starts.
