I know these are for drainage purposes but the hole in my BB is acompanied by a large cutout also towards the front. Is there anything I should do to prevent internal frame corrosion? Maybe throw some grease in that pie hole? and leave the little drainage hole alone?

JP Weigle's Frame Saver - aerosol spray can of frame-coatin' goodness! I use it on all my frames.

product description from Branford Bikes website:
"Modern steel frames have thinner tubes and often develop internal rust problems. Left untreated, rust can rapidly degrade an expensive frame from the inside. Frame Saver is easy to apply and will protect your frame from internal rust. Simply spray into open tubes and let dry. Designed for steel or cro-moly bicycle frames but widely used for general rust inhibiting on road and marine equipment, yard machinery and household items. Quickly gets into enclosed areas and prevents rust from forming. Will not harm painted, clear coated, or bare metal finishes. A 4 ounce (132 ml) aerosol can provides 3 to 5 frame applications. Ideal for use on all old or new frames. Safe to apply over light rust. We recommend it as inexpensive insurance for all steel frames. Proudly made in the USA."

If you are doing a lot of riding in bad weather you would do well to keep large holes covered. They should be uncovered at the end of the ride to allow for drainage.
Spraying the inside of the frame with framesaver or wd-40 is nice insurance against rust for steel frames.
Enjoy

The above minus the WD-40. Wait till your ride is bone dry, then hit it with the framesaver.
p.s. no WD-40

I've been using it on my winter fixed and have had superb results here in snowy, salty Cleveland, OH.
The name stands for Water Displacement and the product does a good job of it.
Maybe you have different experiences but I have no complaints about its effectiveness.

I've used WD-40 in my bikes, and it's served me well thus far. But then again, I can't see into the tubes. Maybe i'm seconds away from catastrophic fram failure.
DAMN YOU WD40! DAMN YOU!

While WD40 may scare away the water and rust, it welcomes dust and dirt with open arms. And everyone knows what those things can do to your expensive new steel frame.

I guess I don't....
In the absence of moisture dust and dirt would be inert.
How often do you open your frame up and find a pile of dust/dirt in the bb?
I have stripped hundreds of bikes and only experienced this twice.....on a bike recovered from the bottom of a lake and on a bike ridden exclusively on a crushed limestone bike path.
Since I strip my winter fixied in the spring and inspect the tubes, I can confirm that there is no internal rust.

PB Blaster is pretty effective as well, it is a penetrating rusty nut/bolt breaker. The best part is that it doesn't evaporate and gives corrosion protection by inhibiting rust. I 'm guessing it works about as well as framesaver.
