The rule is this :-

If you think you look gay or feel gay wearing lyrca shorts you probably are gay. Having said that wear the shorts and enjoy the ride and who cares what people think.

Dude... sell your bike and get back in your car. We don't need any of your kind giving cyclists a bad name. Seriously... Take up golf or something and get off the road. And I have to agree about the football analogy. Those guys wear really tight outfits and they're big and they probably have hairy backs. If anything, I see a bunch of bears (not the Chicago ones either) out on the field rolling around with each other but nobody thinks they're "gay".

Also, it's possible to put multiple replies into ONE post. The quote function works more than once in any given post.

Sell your bike... leave the sport... leave the board... you don't deserve to ride...

See road bikers who wear mtb shorts are gay and the shorts they are wearing are lesbians. That's the penalty these gay cyclists have to pay, riding with man hating women in their pants.

WOW!

I'm going biking so I can ponder this wisdom.

If you're so worried about looking gay, go do something really straight and manly.
Like watch Pro Wrestling...

I couldn't give a fat hairy rat's ass

I, acutally, could give a few people a fat, hairy rat's ass; I just don't happen to have any handy.

These guys are wearing tight pants... and you can tell from the placement of their hands that they are obviously gay.

No thanks...I don't swing that way.

But, I'm still not clear on the nature of your original question ("Are tight road-biking shorts gay?").

Are you really concerned that people might question your sexual orientation if you ride a bike while wearing standard-issue cycling shorts?

If so, you've got some issues to deal with.

If not, then the problem is (as I said before), your use of the word "gay". At 44, you should know better.

And it's not just a matter of "political correctness"...your premise in this thread implies that the vast majority of road cyclists dress like homosexuals. Can you see how that might just irritate some of us? If you can't see that, you're clueless. If you can, you're a troll.

Criminy. I bet you talk about world politics at cocktail parties.
