View Full Version : Bib Shorts: How do I Pee?

I just got a new pair of bib shorts. We race on a crit course that is the road around a campground. It's really nice, but it's in the woods. Usually we go in the woods to pee because the porta potty is usually occupied.

Would I have to take my jersey completely off just to pee? Or are there any tricks that I can do to keep from removing my jersey?

Thanks for the help.

Hang it out of the bottom of one of the leg holes.

This is the easiest way, although awkward at first you will get used to it. The biggest problem I have is getting everything back in it's proper place afterwords. :)

Heh, I just pull the stomach part way down and pull my "thing" over it. If I have to do a no. 2 then I pull my arms inside the shirt and pull the straps off, I would feel weird stripping in a public bathroom.

I just pull the front down and flop the old fella over the top. I guess it all varies between designs of bibs. And old fellas.

That's right, just pull down the front..... and don't let go!

Good point. Clumsiness and bib-peeing do not make good bedfellows. :D

Not unless you want your chamois to pull double duty as a diaper that is.

If I am wearing a jersey over my bibs, I let the straps slide off the shoulders, pull the bibs all the way down, flop it out the front and Gee Wizzz. It takes a little practice.

Mabe there should be a trap door.

These answers are male orientated. What about the other half of cyclists?

I have no experience on how to pee out of a vagina.
Most women sit though so I would assume you'd have to pull the shorts all the way down. Even if you've taught yourself how to pee standing up you'd still have to pull the shorts down.

You can just pee inside of them. Didn't you notice they have a built-in diaper?

If you are planning on wearing bib shorts, simply avoid imbibing any fluids at least 24 hrs. prior to your race; that way not only will you not have to pee, but you will save valuable time!

Not all bibs are built the same...I have two pair..The one by Performance..The top of the bibs in front don't dip very low..So taking a leak requires somewhat of a stretch...The Santini bibs I have...The top of the bibs are built very low to the stomach , so taking a leak is easy.

At my age I'd be happy to pee at all.

How about the Stadium Pal? http://www.davebarry.com/gg/giftguide/2001/docs/gift5.htm
David Sedaris wrote a funny essay about this, too.

edit: probably would have to wear this with the bag on the outer ankle, otherwise could get caught in chain.

I never thought I would read this thread...
Man my male member would have to be... well super long to reach the bottom of the short leg... hmmm.

I just resolve to take the jersey off unless I am in a real hurry.
