Practice - and what are you talking about, riding backwards or doing a rollback. They are different. There are tutorials at www.bmxtrix.com to read through for both.

Must admit, I call rollbacks/fakie riding backwards. It's pretty hard to do, after some practice I can only go like 3-5 revolutions of the pedal (which is maybe 25 feet, or less).

One crank revolution is at least 5 feet.
circumference=pi*diameter
c = 20" * 3.14
c = 60(ish) inches = 5 feet
5 full revolutions = 25 feet
I can do rollback cross footed nose wheelies for about 100 - 200 feet. :)

holy crap! me too!!
but only on a slanted area. and i have to ride into it from and endo or cross footed squeeker. but once I get the guage rolling(backwards nose wheelie..) i can go for ever.

you just turn your bars, your bike will spin 90 degrees, and you pedal just a little. once you learn it, you won't need to pedal
the way i learned was by going to the park when it was empty and going to the bottom of the pool/bowl and riding halfway up. rolling back, etc. like that. eventually you can do it no problem then you move on to doing it on the street for distance

Unless you are riding flatland, there isnt much of a point of rolling back long distances. I used to try rolling back as far as I could, but didnt learn how to come out of them.. That was stupid. if you are fakying out of a trick it lookds nasty to roll back for 25 feet before you come out of it, in my opinion.. also looks stupid to come out too quickly..

I disagree. 180 barspin to slider always looks good, and 180ing or 540ing something and proceeding to rollback for 40 feet before doing a half-cab x-up over a curb is always pretty damn cool.

half cab tricks are so hard. i had a hole in my leg from trying to do a half cab feeble.

Those are special instances.. I'm talking about just rolling out. If you are rolling up to something and doing something else, sure, but like just feeble to fakieing a sub-box and rolling back for 40 feet and then just coming out of it looks bad.. If you're half cabbing something, different story. And I like sliders I had the etnies video in mind when I said about coming out too quick.. I forget who it was, but the one guy rolls out before he's even at the bottom of banks and it looks not so nice. Again, specific things work for long and short roll outs, I was talking about just fakieing out of things.

another way to practice riding fakie is go at a fairly quick speed and then do a 180 and c how long you can go backwarks before u fall or hafta turn around, dont forget to pedal backwards

Notice how no one had posted in this for 27 days? There's a reason for that.
i can fakie about 30-40 feet now...its the turning around that i have a problem with...and beerman, what does it matter if he's bumping it, theres always gonna be someone out there that needs help fakieing so the thread will still get its use...besides...any one have any tips on getting out of a fakie?

you can just turn your bars and pedal forward or do a xup so your tire drags and turns you around

to turn around try pedaling forward as u pivot out or just try bunnyhop 180 out, takes sum practice but once u get it ull wonder y u ever had so much trouble with it

to do a half-cab you need to know how to rollout
