I 've been BMXing for about 6 or 7 years and i think its time for a step up. I'm looking at a P.1 series by Specialized or a Specialized Hardrock. Im into urban/dirt jumps. I've been told the p.1 series is the way to go but i've also heard that the Hardrock is a pretty good all around bike so maybe that one could work. The P.1 series is about $1150.00 (Canadian w/tax) and the Hardock is about $995.00 (Canadianw/tax). I'm leaning towards the P.1. Maybe someone can help me decide. ....................thanks

The P.1 is an awesome bike, it does very well dirt jumping, or street and at skateparks, definitly a P.1 before a hardrock in my oppinion.

Thanks for all your advise. What other bikes do u think would suit me? My Father likes the Hardrock because he's a big cross country biker but I actually like the p.1 myself. I think the Hardrock is pretty much out of the question. so which bike would also be a good choice?

out of the two you asked about, the P bikes win hands down.

Check out the Kona Dj bikes, I haven't ridden one myself but I hear that they are excellent bikes.

Try taking a look at the sticky on this page. It's titled "Freehide Hardtails Thread" or something similar.

Kona shred is a nice bike, ridden one of those, perfect size and geometry when it comes to dirtjumping, and at the skate park lifting for a manual is really easy. So its a good, affordable, balanced bike for the price.

i asked myself the same thing ,HR or P.1.i decided for the HR because i don't only ride urban and wanted a bike that can do it all at least somewhat .the P.1 cro mo which is probably the one you were looking at ,did't fit my needs ,with 24" in the back and only one brake.
how about the bruiser 2 ?

A 24" on the back would be a stronger rim though...

Bruiser 2 is pretty sick. In my price range too. I cant find one though. Out of all the bike stores in Toronto, i still cant find one. But i would probobly still get the p.1 over it.

The Bruiser 2 will save a lot of money. And when you say you can't find one do you mean in stock, or the shops don't carry Treks?

I have seen guys do some stupid things with a P.1, someone landed completely verticle on the forks, and yet rims, frame and forks were fine, he also rear wheel cased it so many times, such a strong bike, makes me think i should of gone with one...

dirtjumpP.1 bent the stock fork on his P.1, and from what I heard, he didnt even land vertically on the front wheel...
