View Full Version : The BMX forum... I don't even know where to begin

In case you haven't noticed, the BMX forum here is a huge mess. It's full of trash talking kids and pretty much useless for getting any real information out of. Threads would get locked before getting as worse as they routinely do in most other parts of this site. There are a few mature users though. I think something major needs to be done to bring this forum up to the standards of the rest of the site, and it looks like nothing short of a mass banning would help.

It's been a cluster**** for as long as I can remember.

Well that is society for you. Did you expect anything more from teenie boppers with no respect for anyone but themselves? I hope not.

There's quite a few younger people in the mountainbiking forum as well, and they are forced to comply with the rules there. I can see why this would be harder to do in the BMX forum though.

I say let them have their place to act (and type) like kids. I agree that the BMX forum is annoying, but that's why I don't read it.

That is pretty much expected from bmxers. people that bmx don't care about anything, that is why they damage property

Grow up. Stop trying to live up to a retarded stereotype. I sure hope you don't complain about police harassing you, because it's to be expected if you're going to go around bragging about damaging property...

Daily Commute, I suppose that's all that can (or can't) be done.

Well, we haven't heard from the mods, yet.

Personally, I don't go there unless we receive a reported post. If you read the BMX forum and see some things which violate BF guiding principles, let us know.

Thanks, Lala, moderator

Thanks for the concern. I'm not sure where the admins draw the line, but there are some obvious violations of the rules, and there's also a lot of what I consider useless posting and misinformation.

Just report whatever you feel is innapropriate and then the mods can decide if it goes over the line or not.

None of the mods will mind if there are too many reports. We'll just look at each case and decide what needs doing. Your help will be greatly appreciated. :)

Apparently one of the mods/admins has been renaming, and stickie-ing threads in that forum lately...
I reported one thread that had about 3 pages of arguing and name calling/attacks, and that just got deleted instead of locked or whatever.

Meh, I'll just try not to look in there much :P

Bit like a car crash, is it? You know you shouldn't, but you can't help looking? :D

I'm not going to deny this stereotype, but it is just that. This is my first day on this forum, and I completly agree with all the accusations made against the BMX forum here. Like was said by hunter, what else do you expect from kids? This forum appears to have a much younger (and immature) population than other forums I have been a part of. This being the primary reason I will come back and post here, I think its good to be able to help out the younger crowd and help them in ways that were not available when I started riding. I think a good solution to the flamming problem would be to get a strict moderator who is someone who posts in the BMX section often. And if some of you more mature guys would look through the BMX forum and add you two cents in I think it might make a difference. It would make the younger BMX crowd act more mature, similar to what was said about the younger crowd that posts in the mountain bike forum.
