Good morning to all, I am anxious awaiting regulary good riding weather here in Michigan. Snow last week-end, rain this week-end, perhaps July will come soon! I am excited about cycling this year more than ever before. My wife (non-cycler) and I just purchased a Burley RumbaTandem, much to my surprise she is almost more excited than me. Now if the weather behaves and our bums get broken in we can begin our adventures.

Hi Mike and the Missus! Welcome to BikeForums. We have a couple in our club who ride a recumbant tandem and they look like they have a great time. My husband works in Troy, sometimes it takes him 1.5 hours to drive 30 minutes. If you are looking for a club in the Michigan area check out the lmb.org website. There is a link to all the bicycle clubs in Michigan. You might want to try one of the Shoreline bicycle trips next year. The mileage is low (about 50 miles a day) with a lot of stuff to do during the day. Remember 50 miles divided by 2 people is really only 25 miles each :) At really slow speeds of 10-14 mph you are only on the road for about 4-5 hours. Time to stop at the beaches, winearies, fruit stands, lighthouses. Yes, I would like to be on vacation, it is quite dreary outside right now, I'm trying to decide if I want to go out and start riding and get rained on. Maybe, I'll hang around the forums for a little while longer.
