Wow! You're a very accomplished man! It's a pleasure to have to on the site. I'm sure some people here will be thrilled to talk to you about weight lifting...just wait...you'll see...

Welcome to the Forums. As VELO said, your knowledge will be much appeciated especially in the training and nutrition forum. Glad you came aboard.

There may be some here that would argue about your being "old" at only 59. You're still a kid compared to a few of our members.

Welcome to Bike Forums Netso! It sure will be fun to pick your brain for training tips. Just curious, when did you compete in bodybuilding and did you belong to the IFBB?
Once again, welcome aboard.

I competed from about 1965-1992. I belonged to AAU, IFBB, NABBA, and the WPF. I was on the America Commitee for the AAU, Vice-President for the World Physique Federation.

Hi!!

I guess I must be a really old man, as I am 3 years older than you. My perspective is that the 50's and 60's are NOT old - at least if you keep yourself in shape and have a young mind set. But, more of that at another time.

Anyway, I have also been a college professor, I currently do regular weight lifting and also own two bikes. I have "unretired" and am teaching math at a local middle school.

Welcome to the group. You have much to offer, you "young person." :)

VERY, VERY impressive. Instead of netso I think you'll be referred to as "The Guru of Training and Nutrition".

And like Altwegg, if you've got a picture of your bikes post them.

After reading netso's introduction post, I now realize how much I suck.

Nice to meet you, netso! :)

Baboon,
None of my introduction means a lot. My proudest time was when I finished my first Century. I am also proud of the fact that I have been married for 36 years, and she likes to ride bikes too.
She has an r2000si.
