hi

I am a newbie trying to get into biking along with my 3 year old daughter.

I have got InStep Quick and Eazy Bike Trailer and trying to attach the Trailer to my MOTIV bike following the instructions (Bike Trailer Manual).

The instructions says

1. Remove the hut nut and washer from the bike
2. slide the tab wahser over the axle so that the tab fits into the slot in the bike frame dropout.
3. Position the coupler plate over the axle so that pegs on the back of the plate fit into the holes in the tab washer, and the coupler plate is vertical with the large hole below the axle.

I have not started this process yet, but realized that I have to have either the 'bike stand' or the above coupler plate. That I can not have both the 'bike stand' and the ' trailer coupler plate' on the rear axle.

Is my understanding correct? or am I obviously missing anything? Is it required to get rid of the 'bike stand' to accommodate the trailer coupler plate?

thanks and I appreciate any inputs you provide.

You cannot use an axle mounted kickstand with inStep's coupler plate.

I got this same setup on my "shwinn" kids trailer. Bottom Line: If you got to use the coupler, you can't have anything even near the axle. I can't even use it on my bike with a rack. The one of the rack legs gets in the way of it.

Can't use it on a trainer either. Get used to leaving it hanging in the garage and just put it on when you need it. Guess, you'll have to lose the kickstand.
