Been in South Florida 8 years, gave up cycling because of the job, babies, and VERY scary traffic. Went to Shark valley last week with the kids, found it's a good 7 mile paved ride with no cars, and I only came for a hike. Got my cycling juices going again.
Started with a Sears 10 speed in '75, then a '76 Viscount in 1983. (Yes, I changed the forks) Lived 3 years in Sicily, Italy, and rode the Viscount and a 1991 Cannondale R600. While there, with the help of the Bicycle Repair Manual and a Nashbar Catalogue, my basement became an impromptu club repair shop. Riding in Sicily is awesome! Still have the Viscount (with Shimano 600 now) and the Cannondale, but they're showing the miles. Gotta upgrade, and get some look shoes that don't go clunk clunk clunk... Old School.
