I'm interested in the Shimano Flight Deck cyclocomputer. The system is compatible with my Shimano 105 levers. I understand only the 5500C levers give access to all the Fligh Deck's features. Is there a way to distinguish the 5500C from the 5500 when the levers are mounted? I'd also appreciate hearing informed comments on the Flight Deck system. Thanks!

Thought I'd share what I've learned about compatibility between the Shimano Flight Deck and the company's 105 levers. The 5500C levers, which are fully compatible with the Flight Deck cyclocomputer are marked "FLIGHT DECK" on the front of the levers themselves. They also have button nubs on the center facing aspects of the hoods. The 5500 levers, which are partailly compatible with the system (according to Shimano) do NOT have "FLIGHT DECK" on them.

I looked around on the internet to see if i could find anything for ya, but came up with nothing, thanks for the info, hopefully it will be of help to others.
Teamfred,
If your levers are FlightDeck compatible. Esy to tell. You should see buttons on at least one lever.
Any shop can sell you the computer. Where it is tricky is some shops bundle the whole thing, while other charge for the head and then the mount. You need to make sure you get the correct mount for your levers. Simply tell the model you have of levers to the place where you are buying. If they know anything they will send you the right set up.
