I love the NBC coverage. The stories inside the race are awesome. Who won can be shown in 5 minutes.
I was just bummed out the gal with the prosthetic leg was a couple of minutes too late finishing the bike leg to continue the run. The mom who was doing it for her kids with cystic fibrosis was awesome.
Did anyone get the whole story about the guy who got hit by the motorcycle? I only saw the guy carrying his bike the rest of the bike leg so he could run the marathon. I can't believe he finished. I'm sure 99.9% of the population would have quit right there.
If only my knees were better I like to think about trying it after a couple of good years of proper training with someone who knows what their doing.

Yeah, I caught it and liked the added production value. Those were some great human interest pieces!

Yes, I caught it. Sadly I only saw it was on half way though. I did get to see it last year though, and the re-runs are spaced so far apart it’s like I’m watching it all over again. I love watching my family in that thing. The race has soooo much energy and the athletes are on a par that I can't imagine I would ever be able to compete on, or most people for that matter.
Does anyone ever watch those OLN biking Sundays and Thursdays? Those are fun to watch also.

OMG, I thought it was just the opposite- hardly any coverage at all, and those human interest pieces were pathetic. Like the himbo fireman and his hairdresser wife- yeech! ANd the new age music, sappy soundtrack- I turned it off after about half an hour when I realized that was all the coverage we were going to get. If the weather had been nice, I'd have been out on a ride, but as it was,it was TV time and there was like no sports that afternoon. On my channels anyways.

Dang it... I missed it. The dude that finished third lives in my apartment building too. But my Tivo wasn't connected.
