i'm trying to transfer my data from my HRM to my comp. i have the usb IR, and have followed instructions but the comp says there is no response from the HRM. the light on the IR port flashes while the wrist unit "transfers", but still it says "no response." any suggestions?
thanks

What I do with mine is lay the strap flat and then put the IR reader over the strap. I then hit the bottom button to toggle it to connect mode and the start the transfer and it has worked just fine.

i tried that also. the screen on the comp just reads "connecting to wrist unit" it does that and then says it fails and that there was no response. meanwhile the IR USB is lighting up, indicating that it is communicating...i am lost.
Did you get the latest USB drivers from the Polar site to install your USB IR device?
Does it show up as being properly installed in Device Manager?
Did you reset your IR option to USB in the drop down menu?
Those are the steps that get any computer working for me. I did another one over the weekend. It is possible that you have hardware issues.

The usb is very quirky with the polar units.. You have to properly install the software and drivers before connecting the IR to the USB port.. If you do not do this it will not work..
That being said.. You now have to unplug the IR unit from your computer and download these 2 files.. USBremove.. Use this to unistall your current usb drivers.. Once done restart your computer.. Now install the USB driver set.. Just to be safe restart again..
Now plug in your IR interface and it should work fine..
