You need to try it in order to find out.

Ya just go sit on a few bikes pedal them around adjust seat posts, just feel everything out, every person is different, but the 16.5 Brusier is a good place to start, you may want to go to the 17.5 though, but like I said to each there own.

Can we create a bike sizing sticky? This is a daily question. I would be happy to write something on fit to avoid these repetitive questions that always have the same answers.

I can pretty safely say for anyone 5'6" 18" is quite large. You are 14, and you will grow, though. If you are using the bike for freeriding and stunts, 16.5" will probably be fine even if you do grow, cause you want a smaller bike for that.

the bruiser only comes in 14.5 and 16.5"

The 16.5 might be too long for u. I'm 6.2" and 195lbs and got the 14.5" bruiser 1. Fits pretty good, I bump the shifters with my knees stnading up on steep climbs, Nothing a longer stem can't fix.

The larger frame of the bruiser and STP will make it feel more XC size but it's more bike to throw around. I'm not sure what type of riding ur planning on doing. BTW i paid $350 for the Bruiser 1 and I love it. Handles great and very easy to control.
