so evidently my effort to fit on my bmx has only f-ed it up more. I had the seat post raised since I got it, I just now decided to drop it cause I figured I just won't sit down anymore and I wanted a little ass-swinging room, ya know. So my fatness has bent the seatpost as the title says. I know have a layback seatpost. What kind of crap is that. I'm a jackass.

No problem Ask your bike shop to order a decent seat post. They may even have some heavier ones in stock.

I've heard that the Kalloy (alloy) seatposts are heavier.

http://www.jensonusa.com/store/brand/?138&p=1 At these prices it might be worth a try.

I think my post was chromoly. My solution is a new bike, hopefully in a week or two. I will probably replace the post still, so it's alteast a little less of a POS. oh well I guess that's what I get for not knowing what I am doing.

ya, thats because they are bigger in diameter than a regular size (24.5) seatube so the post is huge....and there probly made of aluminum. a good post for not alot of money is the Shadow Monster its like $19.99 off Dans Comp, i have had it for about 6 months and it doesnt give me any trouble...

I grabbed a layback chromoly one for like $10 made by diamonback or something. It seems to be doing the trick. I'm not really interested in upgrading this bike, and it was a 22.2, which I think is crazy small.

ya, there nice but expensive ($70ish) and made out of aluminuim and if the guy allready bent a seatpost then shouldnt he get a Chromoly seatpost...plus doesnt it only except like 7mm rails for the seats? if not then why does it say only recomend for 7mm rails...cause if you put bigger seat rails then wont it slip in the seat guts?

I understand Thompson's are Badass, but I don't want to spend that much on a seat post when the bike is barely worth anything.
