Wll after purchasing a new bike that I wasn't pleased with Im back looking for another bike to replace my Scrap. First off I would use this bike for transportation to and from trails, trails, and some jumping. I was looking at the freeride hardtail thread and saw a few that caught my eye: the D.O.C, Soul Cycles hardtails, and the PLanet X hardtails. based on those frames what would you consider to be the ebst all around hardtail? Any other suggestions I ahvent mentioned? Ive researched this for awhile and the only one Ive gotten any feedback on is the D.O.C and they were all positive. Also I would kind of like some build suggestions if possible. I was looking at the Rock Shox Pike wold this be to much fork for me? Thanks.

I'm not sure if your looking for a complete or just the frame or what your price range is. I ride a haro escape 8.2 and love it. I ride a lot of trails (dirt jumps for the non bmxers) and a good bit of skatepark. It has held up great so far, and the 8.3 is much higher quality than the 8.2. The frame is available as well.
It would help to know why you don't like the Kona, then we can maybe figure out what setup would address the issues you have with it.

I agree with seely. What don't you like about it. If it is 2003 to 2005 it fits really small. The doc would be a better all round fit. But without more information as to why you think it fits wrong we can't help.

soul cycles are an incredible value, i have an 04 hardline (not made anymore, more of a trialbike than either the titan or loki) and i couldnt be happier.

The Kona just felt weird. I felt like the pedals were to far back and the wheelbase felt short. Its kinda hard to explain, but I did try numerous stems, risers, and seats. I tried a bigger frame size and it still just felt weird. I liked how it jumped but for any kind of pedaling it just didint feel right.
