Commuting - Disc Brakes And Fenders - A Mechanical Nightmare

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi all
I recently treated myself and bought a new bicycle for commuting, a Kona Dew Deluxe. This model has disc brakes, and I'd like to put some fenders on it.
Am I asking for trouble? Will I be cursing and stomping -- or do disc brakes really matter when mounting fenders.
Also, if anybody wants to recommend good fenders for mounting with disc brakes, I'm all ears.

I put a pair of SKS fenders on my OCR Touring with disk brakes. I got them from my LBS-but Harris Cyclery (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/fenders.html)(no connection-just friendly link) also has them. I had to bend the stays a bit to fit around the brake calipers, but really no big deal if you take your time.
I plan to use longer screws and add a spacer tube to allow me to mount them fully clear of the disc brake assembly.
From another OCR touring owner, this is what my setup looks like.
I have a Kona Project 2 disc fork on my bike, which I suspect is what your Dew Deluxe has. Planet Bike fenders work fine, just have to bend the stays a little. Been riding on them for a few months, no problems and don't foresee any.

Maybe I have cheapo fenders or something but they worked fine, the front mounted between the forks and the rear attached to the seat post. They were plastic, neither required mounting anywhere near the brakes. I then built myself a rack (since I could not find one that fit over the discs) and I gave it a built-in fender. So actually I don't need the fender I bought any more.

Thanks everyone!
The fenders that koan mentioned are easily available in my area so I am going to give them a try - and we have the same fork. I didn't realize it should be as simple as bending the stays, since I have never installed fenders before.
