okay the two frames i am loking at is PREMIUM PRODUCTS FRAME (2005) from albes for $240 or the WE THE PEOPLE PRIMATE "OSATO" FRAME form danscomp for $200 or the omen frame from dans for $180.
which one should i get?
also what type of bb should i choose?
right now i have a gt bike but if iam going to upgrade it why not just build a new bike. then i might sell the gt on ebay or give to some kid in my nehborhood who needs a okay bike.
so what do you think i should i get? my buget is $240 on a frame.
anywhere i can read reviews on these frames?

don't get the omen; the chain and seatstays are narrow so the tires would rub on your frame

I'm guessing the GT you have is probably an american BB.

why would you want a ss crank. It's like 60 ounces.just get a dj or race crank. why are you choosing these frames? because of their price?

the premium and primate seem to have similar geomerry, but the primate is about a pound heavier.
If you like one get it, but i prefer american frames such as S&M/Fit, Standard, kink,or fbm

The only good thing on the premium is the gusset on the chainstays.
i would have the Premium over the WTP any day/long night/at trails...or somewhere else

hay queensrider86 where is the premium frame made in? also is the frame 100% CHROMOLY?
i couldent find any info on were the frame is made.
and i do plan to get better at doing tricks!! itll take time!!

The only good thing on the premium is the gusset on the chainstays.
Why? It serves no function at all if you're not doing pedal grinds, and simply using thicker tubing on the chainstays belays the need for that extra metal.
hay queensrider86 where is the premium frame made in? also is the frame 100% CHROMOLY?
Taiwan, and the answer the chromo question is yes.

so are tiwwan frames bad (the ones made there)?
so whats a good frame from S&M/Fit, Standard, kink,or fbm for $240-250? so what would you recomend?
thanks alot

S&M dirtbike ($250)
Standard 2004 250s ($250) or the nicer version 2004 250s ox ($290) or the Sta ($250)
I ride the Sta, but the ox version.
This is from dans comp
Albes has the kink 2004 cielencki and freebird frames for $225
save a bit more cash and throw down on a solid or t1.
i'm riding a solid kp ripper which is now known as the euro killing machine. been riding it for about 2 years now with no problems. everyone i know never has problems with their solid or t1 frames.

thanks Queensrider86
man thoes frames are heavy but if it will last then thats allright
well i was looking but i dont know what to get
the standard 250 s
or
the sta mark 4
whats the diffrence besides where the rear break is located?
and X matt
the solid is friken heavy 8 pounds for the ones in my price range!!!
which is $250
edit!!!!
holy cow iam deffinatly going with standard because they have a life time warrenty!!!!
but one question
on the standard web site http://www.standardbyke.com the frames are like 5pounds and 14 oz. while on albes and dans they say they are 6 pounds and 5 oz. why the diffrences???
queensrider86
05-10-05, 01:58 PM
albes looks like they mess up the weights alot. the frames on the standard website are the ones with the oxplatinum tubing. i have the 5lb version of the sta mark 4, because it is ox platinum
e30driver
05-10-05, 03:16 PM
so what is the ones with out the oxplatinum tubing made of?
whats the diffrence between the sta mark 4 and the standard 250 s?
and what kind of giro do i need for the mark 4 frame? it has no giro tabs!!!!
bmxrdr88
05-10-05, 03:18 PM
dont get a premium, or a wtp. get a T1. or an fbm, mutiny, solid, or a mongoose, or a huffy.
e30driver
05-10-05, 06:37 PM
i thought mongoose and huffy wernt good, well are they?
i think ill stick to the standard frame.

they are made of 4130 chromoly, what every other good frame is made of. STA's are very strong
they are different in strength, weight, brake mount position, and other geometry
all gyros come with the plate attatched to the headtube

05-10-05, 07:26 PM
thanks
whats the advantage of having the breaks on the chain stays(hope thats right) and the upper part(like on the mark 4)?
queensrider86
05-10-05, 07:35 PM
I think thatthe brakes work more efficient on the chainstays, and the seatstay mounts(upper part) allow more compact gearing

05-11-05, 12:05 AM

do you think odessy parts are good? i want to use them for this bike iam building.

i know Premium is Haro but its there better "higher end" parts and frames...thats why all Haros higher end bikes come with Permium Cranks, and other parts..like the Mirra Pro

dont get a premium, or a wtp. get a T1. or an fbm, mutiny, solid, or a mongoose, or a huffy.
he would be a billion times better off with the Premium or WTP than a Huffy and maybe a Mongoose especially if they come from a department store...and they dont sell frames they sell completes

Pro flatland fork? get a pro race or dirt
Haro wheels? no. go for the industry wheels, well worth the $20 extra, even though it is made by dirt brothers
if you are just learning, the kink chain is fine, but get a 3/16 sprocket. if you use a 3/16 chain on a 1/8 sprocket, the teeth get thin and eventually snap. i would get a 510 and a bash guard

Pro flatland fork? get a pro race or dirt
There's nothing wrong with the Flat forks; they're just as strong if not stronger than the Race forks, and some people like the rake on them more than that of the Race and Dirt forks.
Haro wheels? no. go for the industry wheels, well worth the $20 extra, even though it is made by dirt brothers
The Industry wheels aren't any better than the Haro wheels; if you want something good, go for Odyssey wheels.

That's not true at all. I ran a 1/4" Sharp chain for a year with a 1/8" Terrible One sprocket and I never had that problem. The necessity of a bashguard is a matter of opinion, but the 510HX is by far the best chain on the market, in my opinion and from my experience.

dont get the "pro pack" from dans...becuase then your just getting Poverty parts with the exception of few parts....its worth it to wait, buy the frame, then part by part till you have your bike...just use the parts you have now on the Standard frame....when you get it

depends...look for stuff in your new frame like weither it has an American BB, Euro BB,spanish BB or Mid BB, internal headset, top tube size...and colors.....and see if what you have is compatable..you might have to buy a euro conversion kit or internal headset something like that......
