Mountain Biking - Just got a Specialized FSR XC Pro!!!!

This is the first real bike i have had. Im 6'3, 280. I was wondering what you guys thought of this purchase. Thanks

What type of riding do you plan on doing? what size did you get? Did you test ride it? Have you tried others? any complaints?

i may get a FSR XC Comp but the Pro price is not far away, wondering if it's worth it

Save for upgrades. You're a big boy and you'll want some stronger parts to hang on that

I plan om riding on dirt mostly, nothing hard at all. It cost me $899 + tax. I got the large frame. Coming from "Wal-mart" brand bikes, this thing is amazing. So far I have NO complaints. Thanks for all the replys.

Yeah, 2004. It is brand new. I got it from a place called Ride on Sports.

In which case You'll find my build of a '03 Rockhopper FSR Comp (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?p=545760#post545760) interesting as it's the same frame as your 04 model and we're of similar size. (6'4" 260#)

Thats cool Raiyn. Sorry it took so long for me to reply. Thats a nice setup. What would you suggest I do with stronger parts seeing that we are close to the same size? I just got my back shock (Fox Float R) filled to 275 psi to help with the bottoming out. They said pound for pound on the back shock.

Just start picking parts out of my lineup. I picked stuff that would be strong enough to handle a guy our size riding XC yet would be reasonably light. Pound for pound is about right for the Fox Float R on this frame I run mine about 15-20 lbs under. What you want is a sag of about 25% (eyeball measurement) of total travel. (That's what the the black rubber O-ring is for - calculating sag)
