Hi I am currently looking for a new pair of SPD road shoes. I know there is a lot out there but i have a narrower than average foot so some shoes are too wide. What can you all suggest. I am a 10.5 US mens shoe but i need narrow. Also im looking to spend about 150bux CDN at most.

Hi: I am not sure about narrow feet, but I made great experiences with Carnac shoes. I just got the Quartz 466 and absolutly enjoy it. They have four strips and can be adjusted very well, the leather is very soft and the carbon is super light.

I spent a little more, but at the end it is an important link to the bike.

Check it out

Have fun,
Chris

Hey IRC

I bought these pair of Shimano SPD for $90 CDN. Excellent shoes, excellent value.

It was my luck that my local bike shop had them... I'm not sure where else you could get them... the checked Shimano's website and it doesn't seem to be listed there.

My feet are kind of narrow too, so they fit pretty good.

WorldIRC, if you want cheap but good road shoes, check out the Lake road shoe at Dukes' Bicycle store at Queens in Toronto. They were on sale as of 2 days ago for CDN 49. Regular price is CDN 99.

The sole of this shoe is made by Shimano.

Shoes are a very personal thing. Most brands -- Shimano, Specialized, Diadora, Sidi, Lake, Northwave, etc. -- produce equivalent-quality products in the same price ranges. So try them all on and take your time. Let every shoe you try sit on your foot for 5-10 minutes so you can see what it'll feel like after your body heat has made the synthetic leather expand.

It took me two months of active searching to settle on a pair of shoes. Fit is everything.
