Mountain Biking - Evening MTB Trails - Montreal Area

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For those of you who know the montreal area - especially the West-Island.

I haven't done much XC MTB in Montreal so I am looking for great ideas to where one can
find nice trails for evening XC MTB or short weekend MTB.

I can take your ideas for nice weekend outings too. I know a place in Prevost in the north and
a nice place near Eastman in the Eastern Townships.

where do yo guys all go?

I was looking for a XC MTB trail listing on the net earlier but could not find a lot of local stuff.

OKA apparently has a decent trail. I had come across a listing of Quebec trails on a web page. I saved the link on my home PC, I'll post it up later. Around the Montreal area there isn't a whole lot, you have to drive out to Oka, Rougemont, etc. to get to any other trails.

You should also check out the local forums (clubveloepic.org - local MTB club I just joined) and (http://www.leyeti.com/09/index.php - Le Yeti's club heads out every Tuesday night for rides).

I used to live in Montreal for about 20 years and I find that it has few good places to mountain bike. The best one I know (and rode there quite a lot) is Bromont. I lived on the South Shore, so it was only a 45 minute drive. I still go skiing there quite a lot, even if now I live in Toronto.

Bromont trails can be very rocky and rough. They also have some outstanding DH, if you are into that.

Here's the link I promised earlier - "Mountain Biking in Quebec" http://pages.infinit.net/endo99/index.html

As serious said, Bromont has great trails: http://skibromont.com/velo-accueil.asp
