rode 100k the other day well under 4 hours.

I had finally have found a flat terrain route. Nothing over 10% grade I don't think. I was surprised just how easy 100k was for me. I could have topped a century on that day if I had planned my route better.

I have had my roadie for a month now. The most I had ridden before was 65k on my usual hilly route and by the end of that I was dead. But here I was finishing a 100k quite easily on flats with an average of 30 kph.

So I guess climbs are very efficient for training. Heh, so head for those hills to make the most of a limited time. That my newbie advice for ya.

Congratulations on your century.

I've done dozens of centuries but it's always a thrill to tip the computer into triple figures.

I'm sure you'll have plenty more. I guess the next step for you will be to get it to 160km so you can say you've done a century in miles.

If 100k was a breeze for you - you'll have no problems cranking up the extra 60km.

Congrats, Amir!

You've probably discovered that almost anyone can ride double the distance of their longest ride without special raining -- if they're fit. The only trick to doing a century or longer is making sure you have enough food and water. It's also a lot easier in a group.
