Bicycle Mechanics - Best of both groupsets

Is it possible to build a bike with Campy Record levers, Campy cassette, Campy chain, Dura-Ace deraillers and Dura-Ace crank.
I want to do this cos Record levers are lighter, cheaper and sexier than Dura-Ace but Dura-Ace rear derailler is lighter and cheaper than Record. Dura-Ace crank is non-negotible.
To me this seems possible but i'm no mechanic. Does anyone know for sure.

but i'll answer anyway becuase I'm bored.

everything will work with the exception of the dura ace derailleur. you need a campy rear derailleur w/ campy shifters. I'm thinkin that if the front shifter isn't indexed, you can use just about any front derailleur you want.

i have researched it and i found totally conflicting reports.

Im a Mech Eng student and it doesn'nt make sense. The lever has to match the casette spacing, therefore campy lever, campy casette but thats it
i know the casette spacing is different but once the upper & lower limits are set on the rear derailler it should make no difference if everyting is 10 speed

It sounds like you're assuming all derailers move the same 'cassette distance' for the same amount of cable pull.

The bug in your mix is the DA RD and it's incomaptible throw ratio when mixed with a campy shifter(in index systems, RD do matter!). If that can't be fixed with an alternate cable mount at the RD,another possible answer is a jtek shiftmate device if there is one for that specific application.
