I just got my Mark V pro yesterday...a good week and a half before I expected it. Overall, I am very happy. My first ever ride on it was while drunk and it treated me with respect and got me home safely. Don't know how much more I could ask for. I have some question about the kinlin rims it showed up with instead of velocity (I have never heard of kinlin) however until I have some reason I am not complaining.

So anyway...here are the pictures. If I post these wrong and they don't show up could a mod fix my syntax.

oh, and for all of you in chicago that helped me out with some shops to go to: thanks a lot. I ended up getting a fantastic deal on some Sidis that had been mislabeled and had no box at performance. Unfortunately, higher gear was closed.

and one more thing. Absntr, I saw your Soma outside of performance teusday, you must be very very proud.

Okay, so I didn't link to the pictures correctly...the links work, but I was hoping the pictures would just display in the thread. Could someone fix this for me, or tell me how to fix it myself?

nice bike.
hey, how are those power grip dealies?
do they work well, or ever come off by accident and such?

powergrips are decent. I bought them because my cheap clipless pedal "exploded" and I can't afford to buy new ones at the moment. Basically I hate clips and thought the powergrips would be a decent alternative. I have never had problems with them coming off. I always feel very secure- skidding is certainly not a problem. I don't often skid, but though I would see how it worked when I first got the pedals. It was so easy I skidded my way into a very sore left leg. The entry is kind of like clipless, you have to put your foot in at an angle then when you straighten it they kind of torque down. I definately prefer them to clips, but they are no replacement for clipless in my mind.

The wonders of a straight blade fork. Turning a great looking bike into a mean looking weapon. Very nice.

The IRO's didn't look bad before but hotdamn, they look really nice now. It has that Bareknuckle EAI look to em. I'm still not fond of the triangular tubing but for the price that frame is a steal.

Erik - were you in the store? I was picking up a floor pump and a chainring tool. Thanks for the props. Sophia is a joy. Glad Chicago was good to you.

Yeah, I was in there. I was browsing the discount shoes. I didn't notice you in the store, but then again, I don't really have any idea what you look like...just your bike.

...oh, and I am sorry I didn't post the pictures sooner but I was limited by important factors such as....not having the bike.

Lividkoi: its a 59

And, by virtue of digital photography and not having much to do today, here they are.

In case you can't tell by the photos, those tires are 23s.

No, get a hummer man. Much better for flattening people who have nicer bikes than you.

if you want to sell that surly, i'm sure you'd be able to get back what you paid...

or, you could just build it up, enjoy it, and stop worrying about "what ifs"...

it's a bike, not a wife, you aren't married to it forever... ;)

No, I haven't put it in the photos thread yet. I am planning on replacing some things in the next few months. The stem, seat, and tires come to mind. Maybe the headset, I don't know its too soon to tell. Regardless, I will put it up in the photo thread when I actually have the cash to do what I want.

For now, I just put it up here because some people were wanting some pictures of the straight fork on a bike.
