Mountain Biking - I cant beleive what I just did..........

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

 :( I was riding my crappy wal-mart full suspension in my back yard... actually its not that bad..Its held up for about a year of really hard riding..........anyways I built a little skinny into a jump and I jumped it really high...........about 3 and half feet and hit really hard..........my bike suddenly came to a skreeching halt........MNy rear derailer had gotten caught in the back spokes when I hit the ground and poped up into the spoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not I cant ride for who knows how long..........I have to wait untill this summer to get a new bike so I guess thats when I will be riding because I dont want to spend the cash on a new derailer.....I guess I will be riding my bmx bike for a while untill it gets fixed or I get my new bike.,....I just wanted to post that........it happend about 10 mintues ago....... :(
this sucks HARDCORE!!!!!!!!!! no riding for a long time./..................."me crying"

You can get a deore rear d for like 30 bucks man. Or a SRAM X7 for 40.

I hate cheap bikes! My previous ride was from "Source for sports" and although they are somewhat a bike shop, they are not strictly bikes. The thing did take alot of abuse, but here is the list of problems I had with it. I gues I rode it a little hard for what it was ment for....
1st-new drailer
2nd-new drailer
3rd-new drailer
4th-snapped swingarm (and not even a big jump either)
5th-new drailer
6th-ok fed up with drailer, had the chain cut short and put a chain guide "one speed drailer" thingy. LOL bent the hell out of that. So I put the chain on two bigger sprockets to make up for the slack (the new gearing was not 2 in the front three in the back, so 6th gear)
7th-bent back rim, was replaced by sun rim (and new tire)
8th-you know where the front forks "open" at the bottom to grab the front axel, snapped that right in half, I have no Idea how I was just riding it and I noticed it cracked, then ten minutes later it was off. So i found a way to tighen the front wheel on, sorta "shoved" the metal piece back in place, then electrical taped it all together.
The next week I picked up m Kona! So yeah trust me I have felt your pain....over and over, and let e tell you the bike shot hated me because I had to pay next to nothin to have it all fixed because of a two year warenty!

Sorry to hear your bike broke, good that you are ok though. You can always eBay yourself a Tourney or something like it for less than 5 bucks.

Just MTBs and BMXs? What, Wal-Mart now sells premium quality road bikes? I've never seen Lance Shopping there either. Or are roadies just assumed to not be cheapskates?

A $150 road bike, 29 lb shipping weight. That's scary. I wonder what size it is.

Those frame/fork/rims look pretty... the cranks and derraileur look like they're standard issue junk on those bikes.

Wal-mart road bike. Faux-aero rims and a kickstand.
Even the roadies aren't safe.

just shortern the chain to fit a gear you want, and now you have a single speed!
Or throw it under a moving bus, and have a modern art sculpture.
