is the x7 to x9 derailleur/shifter combo worth the extra $40, i know its a matter of opinion but im cheap, would the x7's suck and skip and nonsense like that?

Im building my bike with an x.7 shifter, but an x.9 rd because they dont make x.7 in med cage.

no. the x.7 is really nice, the only difference between the two is that the x.9 is a different color, material, and uses sealed bearings for the rear derailleur. Not worth it, my x7 is strong and cheap. Just look at the reviews
