A friend sent this to me today : crash video (http://www.nailsbison.com/video/downhill-small.wmv)

Guy looks lucky he hit the side of the van rather than the front.

No luck involved here. It's pretty good but obviously staged, especially since the website says this group gets together to film their crazy activities.

I don't know, I've taken a long look at it and I can't see anything dodgy. How could you fake that? Most of their other videos just seem like normal stuff.

Not faked but still staged. The guy hit the van and I'm sure it hurt, but they did it on purpose.

Like the O.P. wrote, it could've been bad if he hit the front of the van. That could have happened if they got the timing wrong.

I agree that is staged. If it were not I think the guy(s) filming would have run over to see if he was ok.

that's staged. i mean the guy hits the van, goes down, and never once looks down the road toward the van. he just keeps looking at the camera. and the van never stops either, despite going at a pretty slow speed. if you were filming this (the camera being across the road) wouldn't you call out to the guy that a van was approching?

Yep - fake or staged, whatever. He would have seen the van coming - even if just with his peripheral vision. He didn't even try to swerve. He knew the van was comin'.

Dude, that is soooo staged. Jackass has done more dangerous things for video. This was staged but still hilarious!

The filmmaker edited this. Watch the dirty tire marks on the road in the trajectory of the jump. Notice that after he is "hit" another bike dirt mark appears at the edit point.

The A-Team was never the same after the budget cuts.

Was Mr. T driving the van???

How can anyone think it wasn't a fake?

So fake. I doubt the vans wheels were even turning. Apart from the dead obvious visual difference(and this is me with a few beers down my neck) wouldn't you think that the front wheel of the bike might be a bit non-round? It reminds me of the bus dodge video where the guy runs down the path and lies on the road in front of a bus and it runs clean over the top of him.

:roflmao:

I think the dude just hit the side of the van. You know more people run into the sides of trains than get hit by trains at road crossings.

Yes, this in addition to the fact that the rider completely disappears when he goes behind the van are dead giveaways.

But I do love how the passenger in the van is giving a big thumbs up.

check out the van drivers head, he is looking at the camera on the side of the entire time then after the bike hit the van he looks forward.

Where's the crash, I didn't se any impact. Seems like a guy rode his bike onto the road, a van comes by and the guy lays his bike down.
