Recreational & Family - Which fenders fit a Trek 7500FX?

I have a Trek 7500FX with stock 700 x 32 Bontrager Race Lite tires. I picked up Planet Bike's hybrid/touring size of their Freddy Fender Hardcore fenders. The clip on the front fender is too short to pick up the screw from the front fork unless I tilt the fender so far forward and down that it chafes the front tire.

Does anybody know who makes a bolt-on type set of fenders for this brand and model?

If your rear fender works, you might add a "mud flap" type front fender. It ties onto the down tube, forming a protective shied for mud. They sell them for MTB, but it would work on your hybrid too.

Okay, this may be a long shot but Trek has a type of bike in that is availble only in Germany but maybe your LBS can help you try to locate where you can buy accessories for it. The bike is a 2005 Comfort C450 with 700cc tires. It is fully equipped from Trek with chrome full fenders, rack, and all the goodies. While your bike is called a hybrid, theirs is called "trekking". Maybe you can find the fenders for it through Trek itself. Please let me know if you have any luck.

I have fenders on my Trek7500FX. I'll get in touch with the person who has been "borrowing" my bike for the last year and let you know the name brand.

Ok...just a thought. I have noticed that most bike racks for the rear have a shape about the same as a rear fender. Could one make do with the rack as a rear fender? in order to save some $. I know it wouldn't work completely as good as a fender but who knows? Might work in a pinch.
