yeah, I found this terribly amusing... Especially for those of us commuters that don't drive cars. :)

I'm going to have to search for some more of his stuff. I really do like that particular one, though. I'm not a smoker myself, but I think I would more or less have that very same look on my face if the same were to happen to me.

That's funny.
I work at a Medical Center, and they have decided to slowly ban Smoking on campus. BUT, they have now designated a smoking area at one of the large bike racks???? There are a lot of bike commuters here.
I'm still trying to figure that one out...
Me-I smoke cigarettes(a lot), I bike(a lot)-but to make the smoking area at the bike lockup is just so wrong!

I have been on a sort of letter-writing campaign with our provincial Premier after he announced he will be pushing 'no smoking in all public spaces' legislation through by next year. I have advised that I expect him to remove all fossil-fuel burning cars then (he is driven around in an SUV), because, as a cyclist, I do not contribute to any vehicle emissions but must breathe it while riding. I have suggested that failure to remove all cars might be regarded as willful discrimination and an unreasonable health risk. I even recommended he test this assertion by spending a half an hour in an enclosed garage with ten smokers and then one running car to see which one he survives. I think I'll have to send him the cartoon offered here. That just make my point yet again.

I feel the same as EnigManiac. When people think their cars dont pollute very much I want to lock them in their garage with it running and then see how they feel about it.

wow... I smoke, too (rollies :)), but I can't fathom the thought of smoking once I get off my bike, nor would I want to pull into a cloud of smoke on my way into work! Honestly, I can't bring myself to light up until an hour after I get off the bike, and I refrain from smoking during the last hour and a half of my day (so I don't die on the uphills on the way home).
Our smoking area is actually next to the bike rack, but nobody's really there at 7:55-8am... everybody's just starting their day. It would suck if people decided to take breaks at the beginning of their shift >:P
I've already got "you're an oxymoron... you smoke and bike!", but if they were to light up when I came in, I'd be called a hypocrite: "GET THAT DAMN SMOKE OUT OF MY FACE!!" would prolly be something I'd say :B
Check out comic 13 of his. Samurai Bike Messenger.

Actually, I don't know if it's still up or not - I typically only go in by the back door and hang out in the wrenching area when I'm there...
