Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Gee Dirtgrinder, what kind of neanderthal Bike Mechanic do you have? I think the last time the shock was serviced, somebody screwed something up. Fire your mechanic!! :D

No, it's just that this kind of thing happens when you get some respectable air. Unlike those who I ride with that have never seen more than 6". :roflmao:

That wasn;t just from one bit of air was it? Unless it was from many years of HARD abuse, I wouldn;t suggest those forks again.
BTW. was that from errosion or what? i don't know n e thing about forks, so could you educate me? lol i don't even know where those things came from.

Yep good to go man! :p
I dubt you will see that with Marzocchi. We will see if Rock Shox continues that kind of trend or not. Seeing that the production is being moved to Taiwan it will be something to watch.

It was from a year of hard riding and many miles. I serviced them last Fall too.
The seals are at the top of the sliders, (lower tubes). The stanchion tubes, (uppers tubes), go into them. Seals in oil and seals out dirt, water etc.
The center part of the seals, (upper left and lower right in pic), were blown apart from the outer part of the seal. There should only be two pieces there. :)
They are from Judy XC forks. Not nearly top-of-the-line but I wouldn't have expected this.

 Hummmmm. If you are gettin' as much air as you say, then why do you have a Judy xc fork? Time to invest in some serious travel.
Cheers:beer:
