Sometimes you'll get a puncture in your bike's inner tube that you just can't find. The best way to detect these is by using water, but, if you're on the road, here's an emergency method: pass the whole length of the inflated tube a centimeter in front of your lips. Your lips are much more sensitive than your skin and will find even the slowest of leaks. (via Tricks of the Trade (http://www.tradetricks.org/archives/000968.html))

i haven't heard of this method before. i can usually find it with my ear and by squeezing the tube.

I usually use the ear, too, but I could see how high traffic areas would make that impossible.

It's one reason that I usually carry two spare tubes - I do the patching once I get home...

My dad made me practice the wax on/ wax off fighting technique on his car every other Sunday.

I usually just carry a spare tube with me, wait until I get home, and then fill a sink with water and submerge the tube to find the hole right away.

but i carry a spare tube so i don't have to hassle with patching on the road.

Actually, during the winter they usually are...

I usually able to manage just fine with a plastic bottle, some water, tin foil and a lighter and I'm all good...oh wait, wrong forum.

the septum of your nose is a good place too. for finding holes in tubes that is..

very good point. but if you summon THE FORCE like others have mentioned, this isn't a problem. your headgear magically disappears and you can almost feel the power.

Last time a pirate popped my tube, I found the leak by using my sensitive lips, then I patched it with that pirate's eye patch that I took off his dead body.

When I saw him, I totally flipped out.

Dood, but how to you kill him? That's a sweet tip. Maybe you could also use his peg leg for a kickstand like he does?

I'm actually not sure how I killed him, because when I flip out, I go into a Ninja FORCE induced trance, and I can never remember what happens during my trance, except that it is surely horrific. Judging from the amount of blood everywhere, I probably chopped him into two pieces with my guitar.

This pirate actually had two peg legs, and I made them into a sweet bo staff.
