I am not wanting to sport spandex but I would like to get some type of padded cycle shorts. The problem is I cant find ant in the local bike shops do any large chains have them, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Flaunt it! Wear spandex. The benefits of cycling short sans underwear far outweigh any issues of self-counsciousness.

Dude...even though I totally disagree with fat people, including myself, wearing spandex if it keeps you on the bike then put it on and get going. Screw everyone else.

How big is big? Most online retailers carry padded baggy style shorts up to size 46-48.

Don't be afraid of lycra. It shows others that you're comitted to cycling. ;)
