Hi,
I'm building my first single speed bike, however, i barely know what i am doing. Maybe someone can help me out a little. I've ordered the Sugino RD Crank Set which has a chain line of 44mm for a 107 bottom bracket and 47.5mm for a 110 bottom bracket (i do not know what the bottom bracket refers to). I want to use a flip flop hub. My rear spacing is 130 mm.

What i don't know is what kind of hub should i get that will have the appropiate chainline. Once i get a hub and build my wheel is there a way to tweek the spacing on the hub so the chain lines up?

Try these two links to explain it all. Then check the rest of Sheldon's site, there is a wealth of knowledge there. You can search the forums too for chainline and re-dishing of the hub for more info.

107 refers to the width of the BB spindle. Once you know your chainline with one particular BB width, you can figure it out for all the others.

I think overall quality of the hub is most important. You can always respace and redish your wheel to get the sprocket over to the correct chainline.

Did you get those RD cranks in yet? I was thinking of getting some myself. From one web site it says that the RD's are modified road cranks so if that is true you can probably adjust chainline by switching the chain ring to the inside or outside of the spider arms. If the line is off by an 1/8th or less I wouldn't worry to much about it. Let me know what you think of the RD's.

Yes! With the Sugino RDs, you can switch the chainring to the other side of the spider arms. The crankset is, to my knowledge, just like a road crank that is missing an inner ring.
