"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - San Diego Races

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone know of any good races in San Diego? Preferably something mixed, hills and flats. No straight-up flats though, I do better on hills.

Today is the San Luis Rey Road Race up in North County. Here's the link, there still might be time for you. It sounds like what you're looking for, hills and flats.
here's the link:

There's also a three day race coming up in a couple of weeks. Check it out on the main race listing page here:

If you need any more info let me know..
cheers

I was thinking about that road race but since I am not a hill climber I decided to pass. There are many races in socal, quite a few in the sandiego region too. Read ^^^

Go to a local shop and look by the free magazine/flyers. There are a bunch of things listed.
Cyclo-vets omnium this weekend. Check socalcycling.com.

check out www.racelistings.com
For southern California, including San Diego, www.socalcycling.com is much more thorough than www.racelistings.com. I just checked racelistings.com and of the five races that have already happened in the southern california area this month, including three in the San Diego area, they had one listed.

Cyclo-Vets Omnium is this weekend. TT on Friday, Road Race on Saturday, and Crit on Sunday. You don't have to race all 3 to participate. I was going to do the TT and Road Race but came up with family obligations. I don't know the web site but you can get there from Socalcycling.com
You do not have to do all three. It is an omnium which means you can do one race or all three. You earn points for your finishes and points are totaled at the end. Highest points wins. Cyclo-vets will let you register for one race, two races or all three. In order to vie for the overall prize list, you must register for the omnium (all three races) but you do not have to compete in all three events. Last year I did the road race and the criterium and ended up in the overall points.
