What a great bike weeK I had. Yesterday night I rode down to the local Hollywood Video to return some movies. Its night and the cool air feels great. I'm starting to really feel the benafits from a nine month old quit from smoking, I'm sprinting faster and longer. I look good and feel confident on my '97 Specialized Crossroads. She's rigged with a discontinued Night Hawk rechargable light and with my B17 mounted you can tell this is one serious commuting ride. As I sprint down a busy steet I see a familair figure on the other side of the street coming towards me and see its that roadie I've seen so often on this street while riding. He's too good for me. Always ignores me. Wearing those expensive riding clothes. He wouldn't give me the time.....Woe! He waved at me! I mean an "arm streatched out all the way wave". I felt so accepted. Usally it's just "On your left" I hear from these kind of riders.
Later on it started to rain. And then it stared to rain in sheets. it was great! I was soaking wet! I decided to pick up some fenders too. The heavy down pour lasted about 15 minutes. And I loved every minute of it.
And then tonight on the way home from work, I detoured through the park and wiped out on sand! The bike, she stopped but I kept on flying! I hit the ground, rolled once and ended up lying flat on my back starring up at the night sky. Wow! What a trip! Didn't hurt a thing on my body. I was amazed! Out of nowhere two kids with scooters come over and ask if I was okay. Telling them yes I was, I asked what the wipe out looked like. "Dude It looked wicked!" One replied. We thought you were hurt real bad."
Yeah,I just wanna ride now. All I wannado now. Ride.
